Reality has a record

Pilot / prototype

WITNESS / The Truth Protocol

One event.
Many perspectives.
A clearer truth.

A proposed approach to shared incident records for commercial fleets and insurers. TrueTrace is developing WITNESS to explore how independent device signals could bring more context to event review.

Early-stage prototype. Capabilities described here are proposed and require validation. Not available for operational use.

The question behind the pilot

Could independent perspectives give incident reviewers a more complete account of what happened?

01 / Proposed workflow

Agreement before
an event record.

The concept moves from local fragments to a shared, reviewable account. Each stage is a research and validation target.

3+independent devices

Proposed 50m agreement radius. A testable design threshold, with no guaranteed coverage or accuracy.

  1. 01

    Retain fragments on the device.

The proposed design would hold short, encrypted fragments locally. Device permissions, retention rules and access controls need to be defined and tested.

  2. 02

    Look for independent agreement.

A candidate trigger would require three or more independent phones within 50 metres to detect the same anomaly, such as a collision or hard brake. Both thresholds are hypotheses to validate.

  3. 03

    Assemble a record for review.

A qualifying trigger would release relevant fragments for time alignment into a multi-perspective Truth Event. Provenance, missing context and uncertainty would need to accompany the record.

Conceptual workflow only. WITNESS is not an emergency response service, a proven fraud detector or a source of certified evidence.

02 / Commercial fleet pilot

Start with the road.
Build with the reviewers.

Our initial pilot audience is commercial fleet operators and insurance teams. The aim is to define what a useful, responsible incident record would need to show before considering a field trial.

For fleet teams

Define the operational fit.

Explore driver consent, supported devices, incident coverage, retention and the handoff to an existing review process.

For insurer teams

Define what would count as evidence.

Explore provenance, timing, uncertainty and reviewer needs. Any claims about outcomes would require controlled evaluation.

Demo scope: a proposed walkthrough of a simulated event and review workflow. No integrations, insurer participation or pilot results are represented as confirmed.

03 / Clear expectations

Before we
make promises.

Technical testing, legal review and responsible pilot design come before operational claims.

04 / Existing account plans

Your account. Your starting point.

Available site account plans are shown below. WITNESS remains a prototype: an account purchase does not activate the protocol, secure a pilot place, provide insurance savings or certify evidence.
